Kathryn Sawbridge

My recent work has involved using porcelain to create pieces through which I can portray deconstructed landscapes. This is part of my wider artistic practice that explores various landscapes and scenes, stripping them back to their basic colour palettes without the details of a realistic image.

My pieces aim to encourage the viewer to look beyond the details and explore their environment on a deeper level, without the everyday distractions. I am also intrested in Raku firing due to its unpredictable nature.Majority of my pieces are handbuilt but I am currently building my skills in throwing.
