Jean Shaw

I have always been interested in all aspects of the creative arts and over the years have experienced working in many mediums especially wood, metal and clay.

I gained a Distinction in my Foundation year at Coventry and subsequently, in 1990, attained my degree in 3D design at Loughborough. My love of ceramics and working with clay evolved during those Coventry and Loughborough years.

My ceramics are hand built using mainly slab and coiling techniques and are the base for the individual pieces. I am continuously learning and will continue to experiment with form and in the variety of effects produced by the glazes, in their colour and in their application.

My artwork continues to evolve as the reaction of clay and glaze dictate.
