My interest in ceramics commenced with a visit in 1984 to Wedgwood after which I learned to throw with a domestic thrower on a kick wheel.  I then learned hand building techniques at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham.

In 1991 I completed a BA degree in the history of art and design at Birmingham.

I produce both hand built and thrown pieces of work using stoneware clays.  Currently, dry glazes are applied to work and are then reduction fired to 1260oC.

I am fascinated with the process of throwing a piece of clay and it creatively evolving into a form with the effects of fire on the glaze and the clay body of that evolved form.

I have exhibited work in galleries in the Midlands and Staffordshire areas and I have also exhibited with the Midlands Potters’ Association.
