Jennie Howe

I enjoy working with a variety of hand building techniques to produce work that reflect my interest in colour and texture. Many of my pieces are small and worked in porcelain, either as textured, organic forms or as bowls or vessels using coloured clay. I also work in stoneware to produce larger forms using coiling and slab techniques.

Much of my work draws on my experience of working with textiles. I have an MA in Fashion and Textiles, specialising in surface decoration and site specific installations.

Working in clay allows me to extend my interest in textured and decorative forms in a medium that offers different challenges and possibilities.
