Petra Röhr-Rouendaal RBSA
Many of my paintings and more recent sculptures have been influenced by my life and experiences in Africa. I try to capture something of the African colour, light and spirit of the people in my figurative sculptural work.
Recently I have been experimenting with the Raku and smoke firing techniques enjoying the unpredictability of the results. I also combine natural objects such as stones, seeds, rusty metal and more with clay to create unique sculptures.
I studied fine art in Germany, and later did a post graduate degree in Brighton. I am a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Birmingham Art Circle, Sutton Coldfield Society of Artists, Midlands Potters Association and the Easel Club.
I regularly exhibit in group and solo exhibitions here and abroad, won numerous art prizes and sold my work worldwide. For more information please look at my website https://artworkbypetra.com/ and Instagram petrarohrrouendaal.
