KILNCare was established in 1982 by Brian Sherwin, who had 25 yrs experience in kiln service, repair and manufacture. We are a Family Business giving a personal service to Potters, Glass Artists, Industry and Education. Due to the Company's earlier background, spares and repair of Wenger and Webcot kilns are a speciality, although ALL makes of kilns are catered for. We are all engineers and therefore our technical help is second to none.

London Potters is a voluntary organisation formed in 1986 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences of all those involved with or interested in ceramics. It is the only London-based society offering membership to both professional and non-professional ceramicists; all its members are united by the appreciation of ceramic art and a desire to further their knowledge and communicate with fellow ceramic artists and collectors.

Since graduating from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in 2002, I have been producing figurative sculpture for exhibition and commissions. I live and work in Leicestershire, UK.  The theme of my work surrounds the fragility of the human condition in relation to both mortality and modernity. This involves various interpretations of decay as both a literal process and a state of mind.

I am a talented and multi-skilled artist, whose main field of creativity is ceramics. I have experience of working to commissioned deadlines and have the ability to work in a range of differing media.  I am able to relate to people from all backgrounds, this has enabled me to develop rapport with student groups including; school children, undergraduates, and long-term prisoners at HMP Dovegate Therapeutic Community.

As a 'thrower' the vast majority of my work starts life on the wheel (Full Artist's statement). Some of my individual pieces are thrown in sections and joined or even thrown 'upside-down' and shaped in stages in order to achieve the desired shape.

Merryn Lloyd makes mostly to private order but her pottery can be seen and bought at various exhibitions and stalls throughout the year. At the moment a selection of her work, domestic stoneware and porcelain, is on sale at the Lyttelton House Gallery, Malvern. Click here for map.
Merryn exhibits regularly in the Midlands, and is a member of the Midlands Potters Association.

I work with stoneware clay, porcelain, paperclay and earthenware, enjoying the characteristics and possibilities that each clay has. I mix all of my own glaze colours and have finally produced a red glaze that I have been trying to achieve for years! My firing ranges from oxidized stoneware in an electric kiln to pit firing, raku firing and plans for a wood fired kiln are well underway.

My forms are created by one or many thinly rolled out pieces of clay which I then fold and manipulate when malleable. They are then assembled into my sculptural forms, vessels and plates when not quite leather hard. All my work is fired to 1260-1280C.

I create handmade individual one-off pieces that are predominately made in stoneware, which are influenced by the decorative and colourful elements of the landscape. 
I am currently based in Northamptonshire and my work ranges from collections of vases, bowls, dishes and sculptural vessels.

In 2006 John and Patricia Atkinson bought a ruined farmhouse in the mountains of Crete. Now in the final stages of renovation, the house will become the new home of J&P Atkinson Stoneware and Porcelain from mid 2008.
