MPA 2008 Residential Event, 'Another Perspective'.

The Midlands Potters' Association is planning another residential event following the highly successful Festival of Fire in 2006. It will be an exciting weekend of demonstrations, talks, workshops and kiln firing by many notable potters including:
Billy Adams, Svend Bayer, Christine Gittins, Ian Gregory, Vicky Shaw and Ruthanne Tudball.

The venue is Pendrell Hall College, a delightful Victorian country residence in South Staffordshire. The weekend runs from the evening of Friday, 2nd May 2008, until Sunday, 4th May, 2008.  All meals are provided together with morning coffee and afternoon tea. Anyone who has been before will endorse the quality of the three course dinners, the lavish breakfasts and the wonderful Saturday buffet lunch. Most of the rooms have en suite facilities although there are only a limited number of single rooms. The disabled are catered for throughout the college.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to secure support funding for the event this time and so the cost of tickets has increased substantially.  At the moment, also due to increases in the charges set by educational establishments, we are going to have to charge £200 for MPA members and £220 for non members.

However, we organised a successful fundraising event with the help of Henry Sandon, ceramic expert from the Antiques Roadshow, and Bonhams, the prestigious auctioneers.
Mark Hannam from Bonhams will be our after-dinner speaker on the Saturday night at Another Perspective weekend.

A few places are still available so book for this weekend as soon as possible. To secure a residential place costs £200 for members and £220 for non-members, cheques made payable to the MPA.
Special offer for Saturday only, £55, includes morning coffee break, lunch and afternoon tea break.  Email a request for a booking form to admin@midlandspotters.co.uk.

Remember this is a more intimate affair than the ICF at Aberystwyth because you can actually talk to the demonstrators at most times of the day including asking questions during the demonstrations, which are really entertaining as well as informative.
