I studied ceramics at the University of Wolverhampton.  From there my work developed mainly into smoke-fired vessels.  I keep interestingly shaped glass bottles and make moulds of them, then remake the shapes with clay.   I change each one by adding a spout or handle, or change the shape slightly, thereby making each form unique.  I finish my work by burnishing and then I fire to bisque at 1000°C.   Afterwards I smoke-fire the pieces in a bonfire, or a saggar in my kiln, using sawdust with added seaweed, salts and wire, for example, to create patterns and colours.

All the smoke-fired pieces are purely decorative and are not waterproof.
